Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) Treatment in Delhi
Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a specialized IVF technique to treat severe cases of male infertility. The treatment involves injecting a single sperm directly into the female egg. The fusion of egg and sperm is done in a special medium (hyaluronic acid) that binds with sperm that is more likely to have normal DNA, and it also allows select the best sperm for injection. The sperm bounded with hyaluronic provides the doctor with better quality sperm and the most mature sperm for fertilization.
The male sperm is collected with normal ejaculation, and in males who have a vasectomy, and then a needle aspiration or microsurgical sperm retrieval or microsurgical vasectomy reversal is performed to collect the sperm. A tiny needle, called a micropipette, is used to inject a single sperm into the egg’s cytoplasm. The fertilized egg grows in a laboratory for 1 to 5 days before the embryo is transferred to the female uterus.
In the Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection technique, a single sperm is selected and then is taken up in a fine glass needle and is then directly injected into the female egg. Then the process of fertilization takes place, and the embryo is transferred into the female womb.

ICSI Procedure
In this treatment, the mature female egg is held with a specialized needle, and then a sharp and hollow needle is used to pick up a single sperm. Then the needle is carefully inserted through the female embryo shell and into the egg cytoplasm. The sperm is injected into the egg cytoplasm and is then carefully removed. The egg is then checked after a few hours to check for the process of fertilization. Once the fertilization is successful, then the embryo is transferred into the female uterus. After a few days, the pregnancy test is performed, and then the specialist performs a blood test or ultrasound to determine if implantation and pregnancy have occurred.
