Blastocyst culture treatment in Delhi

In IVF and ICSI, the embryo transfer is performed after 2-3 days of egg collection in which the embryo has around 6 to 8 cells. However, due to laboratory advancement, now embryos can be cultured for 5 or 6 days. This results in the stage in which embryos have numerous cells and begin to raise two types of layers, known as a blastocyst. In the laboratory culturing of embryos to day 5 and 6 provide more possibilities for embryos development. It eliminates the chance of arrest for fertilized eggs prior to day 5.

Blastocyst:

The human embryo, after 5-6 days of fertilization, is referred to as a blastocyst. It is also known as the stage of embryo development, which is essentially achieved before the embryo implantation in the uterus. In the blastocyst stage, the embryo structure becomes more complex with the increasing cell numbers and more organized types of cells. In the blastocyst stage, cells are organized into two types that are the trophectoderm and inner cell mass. The trophectoderm implanted into the uterine lining, and the inner cell mass causes the development of the fetus itself.

Procedure:

In blastocyst culture, the embryos are grown under laboratory conditions for 2 to 3 days more than normal. This stage of embryos is known as a blastocyst, and their transfer to the woman’s uterus on day 5 is termed as blastocyst culture. At this stage, embryos are more healthy, strong, and robust.

In this method, embryos are artificially developed in the laboratory instead of the woman’s womb. It significantly raises the chance of pregnancy. This is the final stage of embryo transfer to the woman’s womb. The embryo is gently held by a catheter and inserted into the cervical area and uterine cavity. It is guided by ultrasound. Then the catheter is removed, and after successful embryo transfer, a woman can return to normal as the embryo is safely transferred within the uterus. After 12 days of blastocyst culture, a pregnancy test will be conducted.
